L.G.R Eyewear was born from a chance discovery by Luca Gnecchi Ruscone, who stumbled upon his grandfather’s forgotten sunglasses in a warehouse in Eritrea. Inspired by the fusion of African adventure and Italian elegance, Luca worked with traditional artisans to recreate these timeless designs. L.G.R was born from the adventurous spirit of its founder, Luca Gnecchi Ruscone, during a transformative journey to Asmara, Eritrea in 2005. While reclaiming his family’s belongings, Luca discovered a forgotten collection of vintage Italian sunglasses in his grandfather’s optical store, Foto Ottica Bini. Inspired by the elegance of these frames, he returned to Italy and began collaborating with traditional Italian artisans to recreate these timeless designs. This marked the beginning of L.G.R, a brand that seamlessly blends the romance of African adventure with the glamour of Italian craftsmanship.
