UDM Goes Bold with Chunky, New Colors

The UNIQUEDESIGNMILANO (UDM) collection has always been characterized by robust volumes, lines, and colors. The latest FW21/22 release emphasizes these characteristics through the use of even thicker acetate and an array of new colorways.

Like other models in the collection, models in this release are crafted from 12 mm thick acetate sheets that are left in controlled storage for several months, allowing the natural material to cure before being cut and sculpted. UDM's hands-on approach to raw material selection, curing, preparation, and manual sculpting leads to an impeccable end product.

UDM's play on dimensions aims to provide a frame that perfectly balances 'chunkiness' with wearability. The designer chooses to add more dimension laterally (i.e., from the side of the frame), than from the frame front. The result is a robust and sturdy feeling in-hand, without a heavy and overly 'chunky' feel on the face.

All UDM frames are entirely crafted in Italy by the hands of skilled artisans and using the finest selected raw materials.

The FW21/22 collection is now available in the United States.
